Time To Trade!!! Part 2, The Football, Racing, and Wrestling Edition.

Good Morning, I am back again, but this time with non baseball nuggets.  Here are some football, racing, and wrestling cards that may fit into your collection.  As always, email me or leave a comment if you are interested in anything below.  If you email me, and I do not get back to you withing a day or two, please resend them message.  Every now and then my evil spam filter tries to prevent a good trade.  Now, on to the meat an potatoes.

A 2008 Donruss Threads Pro Gridiron Kings Clinton Portis dual jersey #PGK-4 26/250.  Two cool things about this card are that the serial number matches his jersey number, and that the jersey swatches are different textures.

A2007 SP Authentic Rookie Authentics Autograph Patch Jonnie Lee Higgins #278 323/725.

This is a 2006 Donruss Threads Rookie Class Michael Huff autographed letter #247 86/100.

This is a really sweet 2008 SP Authentics Rookie Authentics Auto Patch Early Doucet III #291 10/25.  I am kind of on the fence on this one because now that Bolden is gone Early is gonna get some real playing time, and it is really an attractive card and patch.  Sorry the scan is blurry.

A 2007 SP Rookie Threads Calvin Johnson dual g/u #TH CJ2.

2009 Upper Deck 20th Anniversary Retrospective Rick Nash g/u #NHL-RN.

And finally,e cards, but for the life of me could never get into racing. So if you are into racing, these could be yours.  A 2009 Press Pass Premium Hot Threads Race Used Fire Suit Denny Hamlin #HT-DH 99/99.  And a 2009 Press Pass Premium Casey Mears Autograph .

Ashamed.....

I have to say that I am truly ashamed of myself...It has been over a week since my last post.  I have not had too much to say, and have been pretty broke, so there have not been any new cards to speak of either.  I did pick up another great Orioles book on the ultra super cheap ($2.00) a few days ago:
I have been active in trading, I just sent out some Ichiro cards to The Pack Addict, and I sent some cards out to Beardy last Friday.  If  I am in trade talks with you. I will be in contact soon.  If you have not yet traded with me, you better get ready to!!!  In the next few days I plan to post about 15-20 g/u's and autos.  Nothing
amazing, just several cards that really just do not have a home in my collection, but hopefully do in yours!  One card in particular that may appeal to The Mojo Hand but it is likely that he already has it...

Stay tuned.....

Speaking of winning, I just got these little gems in the mail today (I won them on ebay last week)
I really wish they would start wearing those hats again (at least a few games a season).
I am really diggin' the stamps!

Card Show Success...Broke, But Happy!

So my Saturday cards show was a HUGE success!  I got tons of cards for team sets, including the 2010 Heritage Adam Jones dice game Back SP.  I also got a bunch of Markakis cards too. I even started my Matt Wieters collection!
The Markakis above is the chrome version.

The 2010 Heritage Markakis in this scan is 390/561.  The 2008 Topps Chrome Ed Reed card is a refractor, and the 2008 Topps Chrome Ed Reed card says refractor on the back, but It has that fancy-pants cubed/prism look to it like an xfractor.  I will have to do a little research on it, maybe it is labeled wrong?  I am slowly but surely creeping towards completion for my 2002 Diamond Kings set too!
You can't see it on the scan, but the '09 Triple Threads Markakis is 27/27, which is awesome because that was my HS jersey #!  The Tomlinson is just plain sweet, 3/25.  I have been a big Tomlinson fan since his days at TCU.  I may just buy me a Jets jersey now that he has a new home.  And finally, at 39/50, the McGahee card was screaming at me from across the show! I had to buy it, I just had to, I love the pic/painting on it.

I love me some Eddie!!

Markakis again, and Derrick Mason, old school.  I am glad that the Ravens signed him for 2 more years.  Along with Bolden and Stallworth, that is one scary group of receivers for Flacco's to make the Pro Bowl with!

Big Card Show Tommorrow...Wieters On The SI Cover...Oh Happy Day

I have only a few things to say tonight.

Having been a Cowboys fan since right about 1978 (when the Ravens came to Baltimore, I picked them up as my #2/AFC team), and living in the Baltimore/DC area since 1977, I have grown a deep, grim, dark, ugly hatred towards one specific football team.  The Washington Redskins!!!!  Think of how much Yosemite Sam hates rabbits, and that is about a third of how much I hate the Redskins.  It might not be that bad if their fans (most of them, but certainly not all) weren't so freakin' ignorant!  That said some of my closest friends are Redskin Fans, and they are not idiots.  Well, the 'ol burgundy and gold did it again, another horrible off season signing, Larry Johnson. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!  Really?!?!  This guy might be the biggest cancer in the NFL.  he may have already tweeted about how Shanahan is not giving him the playing time he deserves.  That boob fits right into that locker room.  Just wait until he eats one of Albert Haynesworth's sandwiches and Fat Albert steps on his head!  It is going to be fun to watch three years of this fool in FedEx Feild

The biggest boob of them all...Benny Rothlesberger....this guy is really starting to look like a Grade A dummy!  Puts himself in a position like this....and not only that, he is probably the only person in the world who wears Will Ferrell's hair worse than Will does!!!...Drink like a champion indeed...

Now, on to the good stuff!

I am finally going to a card show again!!!! With National coming to my backyard, I have been trying to save all of my spare change for it.  But, I cannot take it anymore, I need my card show fix!!! So, tomorrow I am going to a show in Glen Burnie, MD which has been a really good show every time I have been in the past.  I am excited, and I do plan to scan an post my findings.

Lastly, and the biggest news of the week....Sports Illustrated Has a new cover boy, Matt Wieters!  I have not read the article yet, I just bought the mag about 3 hrs ago, but I am sure that it reads something like "All hail Matt!  In Wieters we trust!"  As a matter of fact, it would not surprise me if the cover of every future issue of SI featured Mr. Wieters on the cover, even the swimsuit issue.
I am not 100% on this, But I think the last time an Oriole was on an SI cover, it was a pic of Billy Ripken in the dugout, marking the 0-15 point of the 1988 season which opened up with 21 losses in a row.  This season will be better than that, I promise!

Pack Addict Trade

So Dan over there at Pack Addict and I completed a trade this past week, and let me tell you, this guy takes good care of you.  I sent him a few Strawberry cards he needed, and he sent me some cards to fill in some team sets.  Most notably a '69 Franks Robinson, and a Brooksy too!
I am definitely interested in trading again in the future with Dan.  i know I have some Ichiro's for him, and he probably has some 1969's for me!
