The "You Did WHAT With The Cup?" Contest

OK, its my turn to run a contest.  I am not sure what the prizes will be yet, but plan on them having something to do with your favorite team/player (baseball, football, basketball, or hockey).

Well, I am happy to say that the "Flyers West" (LA Kings) won Lord Stanley's Cup.  Now each player on the Kings will get to spend one day doing just about anything they want with the "Cup" in their possession.  Some of the Champions have done some crazy stuff in their 24 hours with it...a few examples:
-Sylvain Lefebvre had his daughter baptized in it.
-One of the 1905 Senators drop kicked into a frozen canal.
-In 1924 one of the Canadians accidentally left it on the side of the road.
-In 1941 the Rangers burned the MSG mortgage in it accidentally setting it on fire, only to extinguish it with urine.
-Doug Weight mad an ice cream sundae for his kids in it.
-Steve Yzerman showered with it.
-Mark Messier took it to a strip club and let one of the girls make it part of her act.

Those are just a few of the Stanley Cups escapades!  So what is the contest, you ask?  Well, I'll tell ya...1)Leave a comment telling me what you would do with Lord Stanley's Cup, the crazier the better.  That is worth 1 entry.  2)Follow this blog for another entry (you must leave a comment about your day with the cup to get this entry), those already following will get an entry for following  when they comment about their day with the cup.  3)Pimp me for another entry, again you will only get the pimping entry if you comment about your day with the cup (leave a link to the pimping).

As promised, the following have a bonus entry for commenting on my pack searching scumbag posts: Richard Nebe Jr, Brad #39, GCA, Zach, lifetimetopps, Kazi, Dhoff, Rhubarb Runner, the Lost Collector, Kirk Jacobson-or as the cool kids call him- "Potzie", Crackin Wax, and Jake.

Those listed above are eligible for all three entries listed as well.

I will choose my favorite entry for the first winner.  I will randomize the rest of the entries to chose a second winner - the winner I chose as my favorite day with the cup will not be part of the randomization, thus guaranteeing two winners

The contest will run about a week.  Let me know if you have any questions

They call me Huggy Bear...Cuz I'm A Pimp!

If you could see me now, you would see my pimp cane, pimp hat (with  fly feather), pimp shoes, pimp threads, and pimp bling.  Why am I all pimped out?  I am all pimped out because I am pimping not one, but two contests!!!

The first is over at Number 5 Type Collection with some fly prizes...Like this-

The second contest is over at an old friends restaurant...BA Benny's baseball Card Buffet.  I like the prize, especially the Sharon Ozbourne card...She reminds me of Jambi from Pee Wee's Playhouse!

Two In A Row...Unbelievable!

Two nights in a row I go to target, and two nights in a row I see this.  This guy was actually taking piles of packs and putting them down at the closed register to search, just being blatantly obvious about it.  at least the guy the night before was only doing it 1 pack at a time.

The lesson to learn here, is don't shop for cards at the Target on Ritchie Highway!

All I can say is there must be some great stuff that I don't know about in Heritage because this joker was searching Topps Heritage too.

Just like my last post, anyone who comments with a pack searching story or a nickname for this boob will get a bonus entry into a contest that I will post in the next few days.

Hey, Look It's A Scum Bag!

I just stopped in target to pick up a prescription for my kid and look what I found...A pack searching scum bag!  When I walked by, I saw he was searching 2012 Topps Heritage.  He didn't even try to play it off when I stopped right next to him to look at cards too.

Have you ever caught someone searching packs at Target?  Leave a comment telling me about it and I'll give you a bonus entry to a contest I'm gonna post later this week.  As a matter of fact, if you leave a comment with a cool nickname for this joker I'll give you a bonus entry to a contest of going to post next week.

Trying something New For my Lineage Retail Box Post

The fabric on the Ripken actually feels like it may have come from the waistline on his pants...who knows?  Doesn't really matter to me, I am just happy to pull a HOF Orioles relic.

Let me know if you need any cards for your Lineage set, or if you want to trade for anything in the box, base cards or inserts.

Dad's Card Store

I am paying my parents a visit here in Melbourne Florida for a few days and my father took me to his card shop.  There were some nice cards there, just like in any lcs, but I was able to pick up these tasty morsels:

Less than a buck each, and the Robinson Champions is #'d to 75

Eddie Murray and Fred Lyn were two of my heroes growing up!
This is #'d 50/50 Ripken, Palmer, Murray...Sweet!
These were also less than a buck each!  So far, this has been a good visit!

Trying to make a comeback...again.

I just found out that I can post from my phone, so I am giving it a try.  Hopefully this will look ok once I post it.  If so this will help me to post more often seeing as I seem to have less and less time these days.

So I guess you could say this is a test post. But while I have you here, maybe you could help me out.  I just bought a Diamond Deeds Nick Markakis real cheap on ebay, but when it arrived, it has a film over it like the original Topps Finest cards.  Since this is my first Diamond Deeds card, I am not sure if this is right?  Can someone confirm if these cards have film on them?
